Here are some of the things often heard from those who are getting married and how I may be able to help you.

"Where do I start?"

Weddings nowadays vary enormously in style, theme, size and budget. Knowing what is available in this market is quite daunting in itself. I can research the market on your behalf and make a much easier route for accessing and filtering this wealth of information.

"Can't I do the planning myself?"

Confetti.com estimates that, on average, brides in the UK spend 250 hours planning their wedding, that's the equivalent of 6 weeks working full time. It is certainly possible to plan your own wedding, but in practice, when combined with work, family, friends and other commitments this can be quite stressful. I am dedicated to wedding planning and have the time to plan everything thoroughly and without distraction.

"Can't I get the venue to organise everything for me ?"

Although venue based wedding co-ordinators know their location very well, to some extent they offer a formula, which limits their ideas and approach. Some venues will also insist that you use in-house suppliers for all aspects of the day, including flowers, decorations, entertainment and favours, (food and drink is usually a minimum requirement). This can prove inhibitive if you have a particular requirement that cannot be catered for. I can represent you, rather than the venue and can offer a more objective and wide ranging service.

"I want to be in control"

I never forget that it is your wedding, and you should be in control of every important decision. My role is to make things easier for you and to get you what you want. This should leave you free to really enjoy each of these decisions and to lavish in the attention that being a bride- or groom-to-be brings!

"I want my wedding to be special and a day to remember"

Every couple wants their wedding day to be special and unique. However, in practice many weddings appear to be very similar. What makes a truly special day is one where every aspect has been thought out, to reflect the personalities of the bride and groom, and in particular, with thought to the reactions of the guests. I can advise on all these special details that make the day memorable.

"I want to be able to relax and enjoy myself on the day"

You have probably already been told by friends that your wedding day will fly by and that you will wish you can do it all over again when it is over. It really is important that you are able to switch off from all the preparations and absorb the atmosphere and excitement of your big day. I will make sure that everything happens as it should, there is a contingency plan in place for every occurrence and that any minor issues are solved immediately so that you won't even be aware of them. This will give you complete peace of mind and a totally stress-free day.

"I want my guests to have a good time too"

One particular complaint of guests at weddings is that there is too much standing around and too long to wait until the food is served! I will endeavour to ensure that the day has a "flow" to it, not only for the bride and groom but also for the guests. (Weather and acts of God permitting).

Co-ordination of events on the day is often a task delegated to the family and friends of the bride and groom, particularly the best men and bridesmaids. In reality, they have enough to do just looking after you and sharing your special day. I will help the entire wedding party stay relaxed by taking on board the behind-the-scenes management, leaving them free to enjoy themselves.

"I want to set a realistic budget and stick to it"

Setting and managing a budget for a wedding can be very difficult and many couples forget to allow for hidden extras. I will help you set a realistic and affordable budget, and will then help you with the procurement of all your suppliers within that budget. This will give you absolute cost certainty and one less thing to worry about.

"I think wedding co-ordinators are expensive - I don't want to have to spend even more money"
